Affordable Dentures - Dentures Replacement Review from Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Went there very excited about getting new dentures. Worked late last night, got up early. Told them when I got there that I had a very strong *** reflex. She came in and the lower went fine. Then she shoved a large mold with goop dripping out in my mouth. I threw up on her. I was promptly told that there was no charge and I should leave. I remained sick on my 45 minute drive home, and It was one of the most humiliating things that ever happened to me. In my opinion and experience, do not go to such an unprofessional place!

Dear Sir/Ma'am/Hermaphrodite/Pre-Op Cross Dresser

I must not understand your statement above very well. I only read your 10 sentence review around 15 times & I am still confused.

First of all, you gave a 4 star rating for your experience at Affordable Dentures. Now I must admit I am dyslexic and can easily be confused. Perhaps the stars are suppose to be gold and any white star (not like a Tom Hanks) is actually the rating you gave to your visit. If that is the case, then I'm still blaming it on the dyslexia. Why not, it worked in high school!

Now I ask for you to humor me and continue reading the rest of this rant....

You have stated that you have a "strong *** reflex". I was an ER Tech in the Air Force for 12 years and my brother-in-law is an ER/Trauma physician at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. I formed an opinion on your reflex comment immediately. However, not to sound really *** when I wrote this, I paged my brother-in-law to tell him that I needed medical attention ASAP. Actually, when I asked him to confirm my interpretation of your post, he had a few choice words then proceeded to tell me that I interrupted the removal of a complete pork chop from the mouth of vegetarian. We'll just leave it at that.

Now back to my story... Both of us agree that a "strong *** reflex" refers to a person that can tolerate items inserted into the mouth/throat/orifice without easily being choked (enter your own joke here!). A weak *** reflex would mean that the dental assistant would be wearing your previous night's dinner all over her scrubs. A weak *** reflex also means that there is no future between you and I. Now it's time for me to tell you the good news. After doing some legal research (pro-bono because you've been through enough), I would submit a large claim (depending on the volume that was emitted from your stomach) to your Dentist's office for accessorizing the assistant's lab coat. Considering that they also asked you to leave without paying (paid to you, not to them), criminal charges could be warranted. The downside is the counter-suit and possible felony charges levied against you for assaulting a person with dangerous bodily fluids. I consulted with my aunt who works in a large law firm in Indianapolis and I believe you should seriously consider pursuing your options. My aunt is the low person on the totem pole. However, we are very proud of her. She busts her *** for the partners. Sometimes she is on the floor until dawn. Then she'll go to the basement where a room with single bed is set up for those that need to get a power nap and a shower until the phone rings demanding them to get their butts back upstairs. What's the old saying.. "A lot of work for a little pay"? Well that definitely applies to my Aunt Marguerite. So there ya go. You got corrected on how to use the phrase "Strong *** Reflex". You also received what I consider some valuable legal advice... for free! You got all of that just for reading my this insanely long response. Isn't America Great !!! God bless you & God bless this great country we live in. Sincerely yours, DJ the Great! P.S. Please don't mention my aunt Marguerite and the FREE legal advice provided. She is here illegally from Mexico. Her bosses know that she doesn't have documentation, but cleaning their offices for $20.00 a week is a sweet deal. They do charge her $15.00 for the room in the basement. However, they let her eat all the Chinese that she wants or whatever else is left in the conference room trash cans. P.S.S. She's not really my aunt either. But if immigration walks in that's what we call her.

Once you enter into first time denture agreement you will not be seen for

future adjustments or re-lines. The staff at the office I went to tried to refuse to set appointments for my husband and I at the same time (never an issue when we were paying for each service) and we have to make a 3 hour round trip to the office. After many many telephone calls trying to make appointments, we were made to wait over 2 hours for our morning appointment - the office filled and emptied twice - and then were told that it was my fault for being impatient - suddenly the office as a 'low cost clinic' and it was my responsibility to accommodate their inappropriate office procedure - to top it all off, the office refused to give me another appointment date- when I finally was able to accomplish this seemingly simple task, the office called me later that same day (suddenly they had time to make phone calls to patients?) to tell me that the dentist no longer wished to treat me as I was rude - so I said that was fine, send me back my money, all of it. This was agreed to. Then the office sent me a carbon copy of an agreement and release of all claims stating that I would only get 1/2 of my payment back - and the office person HAD FORGED MY NAME ON THE AGREEMENT! When I called to disagree with this development, she said it was perfectly legal, because she had put her initials next to my name. So, I have an appointment with the State Attorney's office, will be filing complaint with the appropriate state agency, and have contacted a local attorney to pursue this matter.

Reading this is like looking at my own experience. Evidently each office operates the exact same way.

Rudeness seems to be their trademark.

Because I asked questions they didn't like I was told, after I had paid $135.00, that they didn't want to do the treatments. I asked for my X-ray and was told that they kept the original and it would cost me $10.00 for a copy.

Actually, under state practice law the originals are property of the dentist, and patients are only entitled to copies. Most states allow a reasonable copying charge, but not all dentists charge it.

Next time go to an honest, competent dentist who owns the practice.

And remember that dentures and partial dentures made correctly and with good materials are costly. Pay a pittance, and you will get trash you cannot wear.

Guest

And you drove THREE hours round trip to go to a clinic like this?????????????? Don't you think you burned any potential savings up in gas cost?

Unless you live in rural Montana, there are plenty of good dentists within a 20 minute drive from just about anywhere that do dentures.

Again and again, I hear the same story. Patients go to advertising clinics so they can get what they think will be a "great deal." Then they get shafted and have to pay a decent dentist his fee to do it over right.

A lot of money could be saved by just choosing a reputable, experienced dentist to start with, instead of some *** advertising clinic

They really went in because I had an infection and the only way to get rid of it was to pull some teeth. They assured me that it would look great afterwards.

My teeth were fine it was just the infection I had. Well To make a long story short the doctor was very rude the lab technician has no idea what she’s doing I now have a underbite which I didn’t have before and I have IT that are bigger than my front teeth so they really do a terrible job there do not waste your time or your money go in there because they’re rude they only try to get your money and that’s it it’s not worth it this is the worst experience that I’ve ever had I thought Dentist was supposed to make you look better not make it look worse.

Not my experience at all. Everyone was very kind.

I was impressed with all of the staff. The day I was there, someone was behaving so rudely. I watched the staff just kill her with kindness. Dr.

Cauley was wonderful. I would take any family member there without reservation. One great thing, is that I knew EXACTLY what things cost BEFORE they were done.

NO SURPRISE BILL. Great when you are on a fixed income.

I just don't get you people. Have dentures made.

Then expect to get your money back, because you can not wear them. It's a given, that it takes at least 21 days to even start to feel normal again with dentures. People work hard to make you something you requested. And you think you have the right to get your money back.

Well good luck on getting Dentures from anyone else and getting your money back.

I had dentures made at Affordable Dentures and Love them. The staff is very professional and will work with you as long as you need.

Poor service, Poor fit

First I got ran through a fast... sit, open, hold without any explanation of procedure, then told to sign a papers and then end up with a rough, barely usable, poor fitting(even after attempted fix), poor looking set of dentures. It would of been worse if I didn't pay extra for the wax test set.. It was full tiny child sized teeth(I'm a #220 man) that they for sure would of stuck me with. I thought rough spots on teeth were dried paste or glue, Turns out there are grinder marks all over front of teeth. Lowers are so thick that I cant get a fork of food through my mouth, I just can't wear the bottoms even if I put enough glue to hold them in for 5min. There's a wasted 1500

I received dentures in September 2013 by Dr Shah & have been back there to many times to have them adjusted by the women dentist as they told me Dr Shah didn't make dentures correctly. They still r extremely loose & uncomfortable. I was told that I don't have a palate & should of never got dentures.. Last week when I went for the hundredth time to have the adjusted, I was told they can't help me to find somewhere else to go & refunded my care credit only $510.. I am so upset between these dentures & the ignorance of the people that work there.

Affordable Dentures - Temporary Dentures Review from Olympia, Washington

I kept complaining about a sore spot and returning 2x a week driving 35 miles for adjustments. Eventually finding out the my SORE spot was actually my jaw bone exposed. They had to shave off part of my bone so it could be sutured closed. The pain was horrific. If only they had listened. This is only with my temporary denture. I'm scared to see how my permanent denture fits.

Well, if you were not satisfied with the preliminary service, why do you plan to return for the second set of dentures?

Why do they have a hold on you? There are plenty of good dentists that make quality dentures.

They are not hard to find. You sure will not find them in sleazy clinics that advertise on TV, though.

VERY BAD TREATMENT AFTER EXPRESSING DISLIKE OF BAD FIT AND LOOKS

Grandson had good luck in getting upper plate at a different loc. I went to Woodbridge. Went back twice after receiving final plates because of bad fit. Then notice teeth in upper plate was all out of line. This caused the tip of my lip to fall over the middle of one of my front teeth. They remade the plate but was same results. I do not think they actually did re=do. The girl in front office made the comment that my teeth was lined up with my nose, which actually is not crooked. The doctor agreed. I guess any excuse is better than none but can you believe they really line up your nose and teeth. They would not give me a full refund. It cost me over $400.00. I guess you get what you pay for.

Had a bad set of teeth from Tracy office after 13 visit's to get adjustments-reline-and after calling main office got another set made SAME OLD CRAPP bad fit and tooth kept falling out went back in to replace the tooth and dentist said he was tired of dealing with my complaints about bad workmanship-after threating to take him to small claims court he gave me a refund for the dentures

I went to another Denture lab in Oakland and got a new set of dentures for less money and top quality

had one slight adjustment and dentures has been very good

Lonie Hvl

Yep. You wanted a bargain and got one.

A decent denture will cost way over $1000. My fee is $1700 and it is worth every dime.

Fabricating good partial and full dentures is amazingly complicated, time-consuming, and expensive.

Yet people like you want them cheap and fast. You see what that got you.

Better luck with an experienced older dentist that owns his own practice.

so quick to put everyone down henruis. do you offer help to people that cant afford this kind of care, you know people that are single parents that are out busting our butts just to try to make ends meet, that sit in pain everyday because they make sure that their kids are taken care of and provide the best for them and have to put their own needs aside??

I love the way everyone judges! Sometimes people do what they have to in order to get the care they need and cant afford!

A dental school is the only place I know to get good dentures cheap. For that, you trade a lot of time for the money savings.

And they do them by the books, requiring 6 or 7 appointments.

Fabricating dentures correctly is VERY labor intensive. I am finally putting in a set today, after hours of work. Things that are labor-intensive are not cheap.

By the say, a lot of people have a deviated nasal septum, and their faces are not symmetrical. What do you line the middle of the teeth up with?

The patient has to decide. Was this asked of you, as ask patients with these anomalies?

I empathize with you, but there is not a solution. Things that take a lot of work are expensive.

Cut corners, and you get what you have gotten. One thing you can do: write your congressman to lay off the taxes and regulation that makes health care more expensive- including the new 2.3% Obamacare tax on medical and dental equipment and supplies.

To be honest here, I dont see how you have the time to do ANY dental work. I have seen you make comments on everyone here....Is that all you do is sit around and wait for someone to leave a comment, so you can tell them thatthey were *** for even going there?

You sir need to get a life. I know some people cant afford people like you that only want to pad their own pockets..

You sir are RUDE! My oppinion..

YEAH well if you ask me..i think dentist are a dam rip off. Even when you have insurance the teeth you get are still cheap made.

I paid 1900 for just an upper plate and the idiots that put my permanent teeth in did it in 4 weeks. 6 or 7 months later the teeth were falling out everytime i spoke. I took them back to get a refit...2 times...cause that was thier limit of visits after you get your dentures. And STILL dont fit.

They had the gall to ask me for another 300 to refit. I laughed in thier face. So my 1900 dollar teeth set in a cup on my bathroom shelf. Pitiful.

As much as they charge...they should make the customer happy. But then again, they are only out for the money.

Be afraid VERY AFRAID!!

Dr Wilson is the very example of why I fear a dentist. Before I ever sat in his chair, I told him I have had trouble with numbing. He assured me that I would be medicated and unable to feel pain. Once he started, he learned this to be true. Instead of trying to resolve the problem, HE TIED ME TO THE CHAIR AND RIPPED MY TEETH OUT ANYWAY.Yes I survived. Yes I am more terrified than ever. I was told to come back the next day for review/checkup. The staff then took advantage of my drugged state and coerced me into an additional $900 for an upgrade package. The dentures he provided are off center, oversized and do no fit together. I was also having pieces of bone slivers coming from my gums. Before he would see me about the fit, I was forced to sign "no tolerance for aggression" document. Then ALL patients were excused and I was surrounded by Dr Wilson & 6 "observers" in a tiny little room. He proceeded to tell me I was wrong and I did not know what I was talking about. He REFUSED to make another set even though I offered to pay for a new set. As though it was not my mouth, my pain, or my money. He wanted me to pay more money to add soft liners for the crooked teeth he provided !He has not refunded the extra money he stole, nor has provided the "upgraded" dentures the staff conned me into putting on my credit card while in a drugged stuper. I still have bone shards coming from my gums to this day. I can no longer continue my job and expect to have quite a hard time finding another one WITH NO TEETH! Anyone considering using this dentist should be warned. He will go out of his way to take your money in advance, then extract more, then laugh at you in your pain. His staff is just exactly the same. All smiles till they get your money!

I paid for the Custom level and I got a letter in the mail after seeing this Dr. once. He dropped me and they are only giving a refund of 125

They took my money and dropped me before getting my permanent denature. I paid total of 3,000 dollars and all they gave me was $125. That isn't even half of what the upgrade was!! Am I PISSED? You betcha. I went to have my implants and the Dr. refused to do it!! I was told that if it weren't for the fact that I paid in cash for the upgrade, I would owe them money. Me pay them more...They are CRAZY!! They are nothing but scammer. Dont even consider going to them. Will take your money and run without doing the job I paid for!

WHY DONT YOU CALL ALAWYER AND SUE THEM,THATS A LOT OF MONEY

Guest

Why did you go to a chain clinic like this to get complicated implant prosthetics done? It just does not make any sense.

Apparently some people like you just think the only important thing is to get it as cheaply as possible.

Doing an implant-denture case takes extraordinary skill and experience. It takes highly-specialized tools and supplies.

Most people would want a highly-qualified dentist to do this sort of work, not a cheesy franchise clinic.

I don't know what to think of denture patients sometimes. They seem to be their own worst enemies.

Affordable Dentures - Gums In Pain Review

I had all my top teeth pulled and temp plate put it same day,my mouth was burning I just assumed it was from all the work they had done. After weeks still burning and my gums would not heal they didn't tell me till 11 months later I was allergic to the denture material, they also said I was a rare one and they could not help me, its been 16 months still burning continues no help from them but was told that my cells would die in my mouth and I wouldn't be able to feel anything so then I wouldn't feel the burn, I want a set of dentures that I can wear without being in constant pain.

Try Valplast . I had a similar experience.

Also, get as clifford report test. Will reveal all dental materials you are as allergic to.

Guest

Somewhere I read that the burning gums can be caused by excess uncured monomer in the denture acrylic. If so, the problem will lessen with time.

Also think about nutritional deficiency, especially of vitamin B1.

This often causes burning gums.

Often patients who cannot wear dentures are malnourished. Try taking multivitamins.

Guest

I had the same problem. I have found some relief by rinsing and soaking them in very cold water helped alleviate alot of the burning, only temporarily, but any relief is better than the constant pain. Good luck to you and I hope it'll help you

Lonie Hvl

An allergy like yours is indeed rare. Fortunately it is possible to make dentures out of a nylon material.

Told I had an attitude because I questioned all the papers they wanted signed and payment before I got the teeth.

I was told to sign papers before anything was initiated, yet the papers stated that everything had been discussed already and they had not. They did not like me questioning this. I was told by the dental hygenist to go out front to pay and I would get my teeth that afternoon. I called my daughter in Lakeland, FL to give her the amount to transfer to my account as she was paying for my dentures. While I had my daughter on the phone I went to the window to ask the amount that would be owed, the receptionist was filing out some paperwork and told me " couldn't I see she was waiting on another customer" and slammed the window shut. The so called office manager came and I tried to explain that my daughter was a PharmD and worked in a hospital which was very busy was the reason I asked for the amount so I could give it to her. She stated that my daughter was working on their time and they were not working on my daughter's time and then she started saying that the doctor out ranked my daughter and she now knew why I had such a bad attitude. I don't know where rank came to play at all. The whole bunch was rude and unprofessional, if not illegal. I am glad I did not complete the transaction and do not owe them anything.
